Mr. Adamos Adamides is the BOD Chairman since July 8, 1999. He was born at Syngrassis in the Famagusta District of Cyprus on 16th February 1942. From 1993 to 1997 he served as Minister of Communications and Works in the Government of Glafkos Clerides, the President of the Republic of Cyprus. From 1988 to 1993, Mr. Adamides served as a member of the Board of the Cyprus Telecommunications (Cy.T.A.). He studied law in the University of Athens and is a qualified lawyer. Since 1997 he has resumed his law practice. Mr. Adamides has written several law journals and articles about policy reforms and government policies.
Mr. Varnavas Irinarchos is Logicom's Managing Director. He was born at the village of Agros, on May 4, 1958. He studied at the University of Stockholm where he received his Bachelor in Business Administration and a Post Graduate Degree in Computer Science. During 1986 he and his partner Mr. Michael Michaelides established Logicom to operate as a professional computer training center. After a shareholder restructuring in 1992 Mr. Irinarchos remained Logicom's sole owner and shift the company's operations to the distribution of Information Technology products and the assembly of computer systems.
Mr. Aristodemos Anastassiades was born in Nicosia in 1960.He graduated from the Acropolis Lyceum in 1977. In 1980 he graduated from the Higher Technical Institute with distinction and after his military service he studied Electrical Engineering with specialization in Digital Communication at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. He followed various management courses and he is a holder of a Management Diploma from Henly University. In 1985 he established SET LTD with a vision to become the most specialized regional company in the field of Data Communications. In parallel in 1987 he was employed by SWIFT sc as a Senior Regional Network Consultant for the Middle East and Balkan Area. Among other countries he was responsible for Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Bahrain, Iran, Israel, Kuwait, KSA and others. He was responsible for the operations of the network and the SWIFT local support organizations. He managed a vast geographical area with more than 100 people involved. At 1999 he decided to concentrate his activities solely in managing SET. In early 2000 he agreed with Logicom to sell all SET shares and SET to become a member of the Logicom group with 100% ownership. Today he is the Managing Director of eNet Solutions Ltd, the new name of SET Ltd, and an Executive Director of Logicom Ltd.
Mr. Sparsis Modestou a Director in Logicom's Board, was born at the Village of Agglisides on December 25, 1938. He holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. For 20 years he was the managing director at the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (CYTA), from where he retired in 1998. In 1999 he became a member of Larnaca's American Academy, managing directors.
Mr. Takis Klerides was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, in 1951. He studied Business Studies in the UK and then he qualified as a member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK, having completed the examinations in 1974. He is now a Fellow of ACCA and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPA). After working for almost 3 years in the UK and Greece he returned to Cyprus to join Metaxas Loizides Syrimis & Co – KPMG, Accountants, Auditors, Consultants, where he became a partner in 1981. He left KPMG in March 1999 when he was appointed Minister of Finance of the Republic of Cyprus, a post he held until February 2003. He has served as a member of the Monopolies Commission in Cyprus, a member of Council of ICPA, Cyprus Representative of the World Assembly of ACCA. He has appointed as a Governor of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) from 1999 to 2003. He was the Chairman of the Cyprus Basketball Association for ten years (1988 – 1998) and a member of the Executive Council of the Cyprus Olympic Committee. From April 2003 he established his own business consulting firm acting as advisor/director to a number of public and private corporations in banking, finance, investments, I.T., oil and gas, shipping, hotels and others.
Dr Nicos Michaelas was born in Famagusta (Cyprus) on the 25th of August 1972. He graduated from the American Academy Larnaca (High School) in 1990, and received his Bachelor Degree (BA(Hons) in Industrial Economics with Accounting) from the University of Nottingham in the UK in 1995. He then continued his postgraduate studies at Manchester Business School in the UK and in 1998 he received a Doctorate in Finance (PH.D. in Finance). From 1997 to 2000 he was researching/teaching business economics and financial management at Manchester Business School as a Research Fellow. His research work has been presented at international conferences and has been published in international academic journals. From the year 2000 until 2005 he has worked at Lefkoniko Stockbrokers Ltd (the Investment Banking Branch of the Cyprus Cooperative Banking Society) as Operations Manager. In the year 2005 has been appointed as General Manager of Demetra Investment Public Ltd, the largest investment company in Cyprus, a position he holds until today. He sits on the Board of a number of public and private companies.
Mr. Michael Sarris was born on 14/04/1946 in Nicosia. He received his B.Sc. in Economics at the London School of Economics and continued his studies in the United States where he obtained his Doctorate in Economics. In 1972, he joined the research department of the Central Bank of Cyprus. In early 1974, he moved to the Bank of Cyprus to work on planning and project analysis. As from 1975, Michael Sarris worked at the World Bank. In the course of his career, his work covered a broad range of sectors in Africa, Latin America and East Asia. His duties included, supervision of the design of the overall country strategies of the Bank, the provision of advice on policy issues for economic and social development, the elaboration of programmes for structural reforms and the development of economic policy dialogue, between the Bank and the national authorities of countries seeking World Bank assistance. At the end of 2004, he retired from the World Bank as a Department Director. In September 2005, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, appointed him as Minister of Finance, where he served until the change in government in March 2008. During his tenure, Cyprus prepared for and successfully introduced the Euro as its national currency.
Mr. Giorgos Papaioannou was born in Nicosia in October, 1962. He is a graduate of the Law Faculty of the National and Kapodistriako University of Athens. He was distinguished in his academic studies and was first at the examinations of integration in the advocate’s profession. From 1990 up to 2002 he served in the Law Office of the Republic of Cyprus, as attorney of the Republic, with particular focus on issues of administrative and criminal law. He participated in legal congresses and was member of an anticorruption committee of the Council of Europe. In 2002 he resigned from his position in the Law Office of the Republic and ever since he runs his own lawyers’ office in Nicosia. He exercises and is interested in music. He is married and has two children.
